How I deal with conflict

Conflict seems to be everywhere and in everyones life. No matter how hard we try...conflict always seems to find a way into our lives, weather it is with family, friends, co-workers, your boss, or a stranger. People deal with conflict in many different ways. Some of them good...and some of them not so good. Some conflicts end in yelling and walking away and some conflicts end with a fist fight or worse.Conflict can be good and bad. The good part is that it teaches us to deal with other people in different situations in our life. The bad part is that sometimes it can make us angry towards some of the people we love the most. The best way to avoid conflict is to try and be considerate of other peoples feelings and try and listen to what others have to say.

I am a 21 year old college student with a job...obviously I am going to be dealing with a bunch of conflicts in my life. I have conflicts with school, work, and at home. Although it is very hard for me to not loose my temper and yell or cuss at someone, I really try and listen to those who are older and have more experience then I do. I am at that age where I think I know everything...when in reality...I don't know much at all. I get into it with my parents a lot and although I think they are being unfair at times they care for me and only want the best. I really try and listen to what they have to say. I have a friend who I have known for many years and she and I are complete opposites and have gotten into to a lot of fights, after a while we can talk it out and listen to what eachother has to say. In other words..I really try and listen to what others have to say. Yes, I do loose my temper and have said some mean things to people who I really love and it put a little strain on our relationship, but after calming down it always works out.
